Global Solar Atlas — public point API, anonymous. Hits the `globalsolaratlas.info` long-term-average point API for the requested lat/lon and stores annual GHI/DNI (kWh/m²/yr) and PVOUT (kWh/kWp/yr). The values live at ``annual.data.<LAYER>`` (``annual.metadata`` holds the layer descriptions); the parser used to read ``annual.<LAYER>`` and so returned zero rows on every live call. **One point per atlas release, not per run.** A long-term average is not an observation of any year. It used to be stamped 1 January of the year the job ran, so the same climatology became a new "2026 value", then a "2027 value", and every run wrote a new vintage. Now each value is stamped from the atlas metadata of its layer: ``interval_start`` = 1 January of the last year the average covers (``period.to``), ``vintage_ts`` = the layer's ``updated`` date. Re-runs against the same release rewrite the same point under the same vintage; a new atlas release is, correctly, a new point. A response without that metadata raises ``SchemaDriftError`` rather than invent a date.
